Meet Your Counsellor
Helen Farrow (was Scott-Wilson)
My Journey:
I am a single parent to a 21 year old son. Being a parent has been the reason behind my motivation and the thing which inspired me to continue with my education and to set up as a counsellor in private practice.
My path to becoming a counsellor has been a natural progression linking with my own life experiences and my work in educational settings in Stockport and Cheadle Hulme, where I have supported children with additional needs.
I have gained a wide breadth of experience and skills through the counselling I have done for Relate GMS, Mosaic Young People's Drug and Alcohol Service, Path Counselling and Talk, Listen, Change (TLC). Through these different roles I have experienced a diverse range of client needs and presenting issues.
I am passionate about my role as a counsellor and find it extremely rewarding watching the growth my clients achieve as they continue to develop their own understanding of themselves during the sessions. I am a strong believer that we all have the power within ourselves to reach for our goals and dreams. Sometimes we just need a helping hand!
I am a fully qualified counsellor who is trained to work with adults and young people over the age of sixteen years old. I am also a registered member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP). I hold full professional indemnity insurance at Unique You Counselling - Cheadle.

Other information:
At Unique You Counselling and I always strive to provide a great service for clients. I am always open to feedback and welcome your views to be expressed in the sessions.
It can be very confusing when trying to decide which therapist to choose so it is important for you to consider things such as qualifications and whether the counsellor has a professional membership with an organisation such as the BACP. Being on an Accredited Register, for example the BACP's register is something the NHS and the Professional Standards Authority recommend you seek when choosing a counsellor. This provides protection to clients and helps to regulate the quality of services received.
